Silent Night Remix

This week as I was in the studio recording my friends Kate and BJ I came upon an interesting thought. It came up when kate said how nice it was to hear a man sing silent night. It instantly made me think about how people interpret songs based on who’s telling the story. You see I’ve always thought of silent night as a song being sung by Mary, the mother of Jesus. I think it’s probably cause I’ve only ever herd that song sung by women but as soon as I herd it sung by another male I thought about what it would be like if Joseph was singing it.
Imagine what that night would have been like for him. Sitting in a manger next to his virgin wife who just gave birth to a child that isn’t his. He knows he has to take care of this new life because an angel of the Lord told him that this child was the savior of the world. He’s already being looked at strange from his friends and family for marrying a pregnant woman and now his whole life will be defined by this young child. Just listen to the track below and imagine being in that situation. It kinda changed my life.
